Well, it’s been about a week since I’ve started my phone project, and it’s been exciting. The entire process is almost liberating and challenging in a way that photography for me hasn’t been. It’s all about shape and certain light and hard contrast. Trying to get things to register is an adventure and learning what doesn’t is fun.
I’m still shooting. I’ve got a few images that I want to look at during a final cut, but I have to shoot a lot more.
I’ve done some test prints and much to my surprise the quality holds up at least to the side I want to display them. Right now I’m trying to figure out a presentation medium for them. I was thinking a small showing originally accompanied by a small run of each, but I was also thinking a book might be interesting. Gauging reception of the idea has been difficult and that will probably be the deciding factor.
